Secret of happiness!

by HE Times

The secret to happiness is also the secret to a long and fulfilling life.

eople rushing about like busy little ants carrying out their daily chores but perhaps not really advancing or experiencing as much happiness as they had hoped. Everyone brings their own set of experiences to the table and some people might be living with mental illnesses like depression or anxiety that make things more complicated. But hopefully you might be able to find a few pieces of advice here that can help life feel a little easier.

Eliminate “should” from your vocabulary

“When we use the word ‘should,’ it’s like this big, judgmental finger wagging at yourself. ‘I should work out more, I should be happier, I should be more grateful.’ Language matters. The right word can motivate you to take your happiness and success to the next level, but wrong ones can stand in your way.

Yes, it’s possible

Very little is needed to make a happy life; it is all within yourself, in your way of thinking. When you say no you can safely stay within your comfort zone. You don’t have to fear failing or being rejected. But if you say yes your life can expand and deepen. The yes allows you to open up your life to more happiness.

Go for good enough

Ironically, you somehow still never feel like enough, no matter how many achievements you acquire. Aiming for perfection usually winds up in a project or something else very slowly or never being finished. So go for good enough instead. If you start to live more from within, your moods won’t fluctuate as much, and you’ll be able to enjoy a nice day, even if things don’t go your way.

Be grateful

Simply being grateful can give your mood a big boost, among other benefits. Gratitude is the emotion we feel when we notice that something good has come into our lives and we appreciate it. Research has shown that teenagers and adults who feel grateful more often than others are also happier, get better grades, and have better friendships. Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough.

Stop checking your Smartphone randomly

Make a strategic decision about when you will check your email and messages. Consider doing a digital detox to reduce stress, focus on social interaction and connect with nature. The smartphone has changed our lives for the better in some ways, but it definitely has its drawbacks, too. For instance, some research has found that smartphone use may contribute to sleep issues and depression.
